Hi Everyone,

One of the CoachChris.ca team members, Steve Darley, is riding a tour of Ontario to raise money for Cancer Research. He will be riding through our area this weekend, September 3 and 4, and he is always looking for people to ride with him and support his cause. You can check out the details on his cause here:

http://www.greatlakescancerride.ca (http://www.greatlakescancerride.ca)

I've pasted some of the info from his website below. It would be great we could show Steve some support!

Great Lakes Cancer Ride

Steve Darley started this project, why?
Steve's reasons for this riding project are simple. He wants to give something back to the community. He wants to promote early detection and awareness of various types of cancer; he wants to help other cancer patients relize that there is hope; he wants to promote a positive attitude and make a difference for other cancer patients. Read more about Steve ... (http://www.greatlakescancerride.ca/about.html)

Where is he riding?
Starting on Saturday August 19, 2006, Steve will ride from Thunder Bay to Ottawa following a Great Lake Shoreline route of 2900 kilometres. He plans to ride approximately 140 km per day and will complete his ride at the end of September. See the Schedule of dates and places ... (http://www.greatlakescancerride.ca/schedule.html)

What can I do to help?
Steve invites other riders to join him raise money to help cancer patients through the crisis of cancer. Hey Graydon,

I might be able to ride, it depends where he is when? Any idea, I'll actually be at my cottage, on Lake Huron (just above Grand Bend). If he's riding in London on the Monday, I might be able to swing down. If you can get anymore info, file it my way.

Cheers,

Blair

Hi Blair,

I don't think Steve is actually coming through London, but on the 3rd will be riding from Port Elgin to Grand Bend, and on the 4th from Grand Bend to Sarnia. I don't know if that works for a lot of people, as if you weren't already in that area, it's a little bit of a drive from London. An idea might be to hit the beach with friends/family after the ride, however, and make a day trip out of it!

The other options are: September 8th Steve will be rolling into Port Stanley from Wheatley, and on the 12th, he is hosting a meet and greet even in Aylmer:

Aylmer Area Walk Run Ride.
Details: @ 2:00pm at 6934 Imperial Road. There will be a 12k and a 20k ride for anyone interested with refreshments and food after.

The rides on the 8th or the 12th might work better for some people around here. Again, you could make a beach day trip out of it if you wished.

There is info each where Steve will be riding each day, and contact information for anyone wishing to get a hold of him, on his website.
