Alright now Im getting Beaten down like a red headded stepchild on the compact crank issue. I know Tyler Hamilton did the tour on them . How would one decide on the use of them. I guess if I win or am close to winning every sprint tomorrow in a 53/13 which is close to a compact crank max combo against all those mashers with their 53/11. Now by me spinning faster and not using up as much glycogen stores I should be fresher longer???? Is there any science that can be quoted? How often are we as racers in the 53/11 as apposed to having the perfect gear range. Why isnt it manley to spin?
Anyone have any proof for or against these suposed techno wonders????

Stop being a marketing victim. What king of wheels do you have? If they weigh more than 1300 grams, are not tubulars and are not aero, you're barking up the wrong tree. Performance ranking: wheels #1, frame #2, everything else #3. Compact cranks #147.
