Fearless Browne takes well deserved Win.
Good weather for a decent turnout at Exeter Road for the crit. Format was a points race of 50 laps with sprints at 40, 30, 20, 10 and 0. First off there are some gaps in my report as a) I was out fixing a flat for a while and b) the race was very aggressive with a lot of moves off the front. Having said that here is the report: The pace started fairly quick with Julio pulling for the first 2 or 3 laps at a high pace. Not long after that Craig Browne attacked with Forsdike going followed by Brandon Throop. The 3 built a pretty good gap with the pack not super motivated to chase. They stayed away for the 40 lap sprint with Craig taking the points ahead of Mike. Brandon was back in the pack while Craig and Mike stayed away. The duo got caught and a sizeable break was established with Tony, Craig, Carlos, Mike, Sean Forbes and I think Kees. I was hanging on the back of this group after changing my flat, and while the pace was pretty quick they never seemed to work all that well together. They did manage to stay away for the next sprint with Tony, Craig and Julio in the mix but I am not sure of the order. More active racing followed with Craig again of the front. Not 100% sure what happened at the 20 lap to go sprint, but Tony and Julio managed to get points as they were away off the front for a while. Into the finale Browne had a good lead on points but the race wasn't over as Charlie, Tony and Julio all had a decent amount of points as well. Graydon took control with 2 laps to go and lead out Browne. Charlie nipped Craig at the line for first, but Craig's second place was more than enough for the overall win. Final top 5 were:
1. Brownie
2. Charlie
3. Tony
4. Julio
5. Kees
Hopefully Tony, Graydon and Craig can fill in my obvious gaps.
I still did see enough of the race to name my E load stars:
Craig Browne - Convincing win, fearless and strong.
Charlie - Not as active as usual, but still takes final sprint
Tony - Active all night and a solid 3rd place
Julio - Active and strong
Sean Forbes - getting stronger every week
Kees - always a factor
Forsdike - Strong off the front
Brandon - off the front and not afraid to try
