Photos from the last day of February Camp courtesy of Greg Palmer. There was some grumbling about stopping for photos, but I think everyone will agree it was worth it for some good shots to remember the camp. Enjoy:

Does Brownie ever wear cold weather gear? Everybody seems pretty bundled up and Craiger is merrily riding along in shorts and short-sleeve jersey.

haha, a couple days he did wear leg and arm warmers. One day he even wore a vest. It is a bit deceptive because he wears lots and lot of layers. A couple days he only had a Jersey on, but had 3-4 base layers underneath. Never the less he is one tough boy.

the day we rode to furman was pretty much 22 degrees, I had shirt under my jersey and and was way over dressed. Everyone else wore more clothing than a homeless man in North Bay in January. not sure why

To clairfy, when we started it was only about 10 degrees, certainly not shorts and jersey weather in my books. I seem to remember it was only about 16 degrees at Furman, so I kept on the legs. You need to keep those joints warm. If you ever see pics of Euro pros training they are almost always wearing knee or leg warmers. They know that it is important to keep those precious knees warm, kinda like a homeless guy in North Bay :)

That where you learned the trick with the garbage bags?
I've heard Chris many times giving people heck for not having their knees covered if temps are below 16 C - how do you get away with it Craiger?

The true rule of thumb is actually less than 20 degrees to keep your knees warm in training. I sometimes say around 16 degrees to be a bit flexible. Personally when I train I keep my knees warm up to 20 degrees.

Please dont humour me Wheels. there was no actual sprinting going on whatsoever down there that week at all. no one proved to be victorious at all because no one knew when or where to sprint and if someone did sprint only a one or two ppl would maybe try. weak ahah
but seriously, started out with knee and arm warmers on that day to furman and i forget whos watch it was, but it said 21.6 degrees or somethin around the time we were leavin furman

Only 1 sprint was messed up, the one for the "white fence" that didn't exist. Jason won all the Pumpkintown sprints and pretty much everybody knew where it was. Maybe not everyone sprinted, but most did. He won fair and square. The bigger tests will be the first few club races and then onto OCA races which are obviously where it really counts.
