As it stands i think i am the only one officially signed up. I think Fancy is still thinking about it. But i am going down in any event. I'm still holding out on finding a place to stay in hopes that more people will join in but I don't think i can wait much longer so if anyone else is in and wants to find a place to stay, let me know.

Hey Throop,
how are you getting down there, if you are driving, I would be more than willing to help pay for gas and whatever else.
Hey Brownie..... With Throopinators track record I would either count on riding back in the ambulance chopper with him or at least driving his rig back with him strapped in a bag or box of somekind...... Take plenty of Nu Skin and ice packs and gauze........
good Luck you guys...

Hope you guys have a 29. I've heard horror stories of guys actually getting off their bikes and walking some of the climbs. John Gee (former Provincial RR champ) talked about 27 not being enough!
Give 'er hell, you're all better men than I.
WannaB, with your new found weight loss this sounds like a perfect race for you.

I have raced this race when it was called Killington. It was 3 stages: road race, circuit race, and a crit. This race used to draw a very strong pro field. If you need a 39x29 to get up the climbs then you're not racing, you're just surviving. Unless you've made some trips to hilly areas to do some climbing you're going to be in for a shock.
If you were racing up Wintergreen (Virginia) or Mt. Washington (NH) then I could see why you'd need 39x29. BTW, Wintergreen is just stupidly steep at the end.

A 39x25 is adequate for Green Mountain. I rode the climbs last year when I was there with the provincial team. I had problems going up in a 39x23 but I am a heavy rider and I was not racing. A 23 likely isn't enough, but a 25 should be adequate.
