Cabins have been booked for training camp for next year.

Next year will be a full 8 day camp checking in on Saturday March 14th and checking out on Sunday March 22nd. Next year will be one big camp, the week we have booked is the March Break week of 2009 for most people.

Below are the details for 2009 Camp:

Check in is on Saturday March 14th, Check out is on Sunday March 22nd

If you can't do all the days you can arrive late or leave early depending on your schedule. The cabins are booked for the entire time, so the rate is set.

Camp is at Table Rock State Park which is in the Northwest corner of South Carolina. The closest city is Greenville which is about 35 minutes by Car.

We stay in heated cabins. They are fully furnished with full kitchens and bathrooms with showers. Sleeping arrangements are double beds, bunk beds and a pull out couch.

There will be 3 groups riding on most days based on ability. Rides will vary between 3-4.5 hours except for recovery days. Each group will have a profressional designated ride leader. There will be detailed training and route planning. The multiple groups will allow athletes of all levels to find a group that suits their needs.

Closer to the date I will organize carpools and send out in depth details including maps and directions, what to bring, cabins and sleeping arrangements, Camp Itenerary, Training Plan, Health Insurance Info and Waiver Form

With the removal of bunk beds from most cabins next year prices will be based upon which sleeping arrangement you want. With fewer spaces because of the removal of the bunks, prices have gone up slightly, but are actually cheaper for couples who share a bed.

Following are the number of beds and the costs:

6 Bunk Bed Spots $425 for clients, $500 for non clients
4 pullout spots $400 for clients, $475 for non clients
6 Double Beds $625 for clients, $700 for non clients

*Note $625 and $700 is the total rate for the bed i.e. if 2 people share the bed the total cost for both is $625 or $700, not $625 or $700 each.

Janice is expecting in December, so unfortunately there will not be a cooking option. Janice may come down for the week, but with two little ones won't be able to do group cooking. If Janice does come down she can certainly help other cabins out with directions to the Grocery Store meal ideas etc. Each cabin will work together to prep their meals. This year those that did their own cooking generally said it wasn't too bad and some said they even enjoyed it.

Camp spots are on a first come first served basis. Camp fee is fully refundable until December 1st 2008. The camp gets more and more popular, I expect spots will fill up fairly quickly. Camp spots are reserved once payment is received. Payment by cheque is preferable. Make cheques payable to Coach Chris.ca. Cheques can be mailed to:

Coach Chris.ca
136 Maxwell Crescent
London Ontario
N5X 1Z2

Payment includes accomodations and camp and ride organization. Expect the following extra costs:

$100-$125 for your share of the groceries
$75-$100 Share of Gas to and from SC
$50-$75 Spending money for trips into town

To reserve your spot send payment per the instructions above.

If you have any questions post them here or you can email me chris@coachchris.ca

If someone wants to run a camp I can give them all the info on booking cabins, route maps, where the grocery stores are etc. One problem though I think Alex has a different slack week at Western than other people.

Western has the same slack week this year. They changed it to match with everyone elses as well as to avoid having family day not during slack week. So we are all set for anyone from western ha ha sorry about your luck Wiggy

Like I said, I can pass on all the info to anyone that wants to organize a camp. With the baby only being about 2 months old in February I certainly won't be able to organize a slack week camp. If you can find someone who wants to book the cabins and do the organizing I can certainly help.

When is everyone's slack week exactly? I would be interested in attending a camp during that time because I'm going to Fanshawe next year. Otherwise I would be going to Alabama for a camp there, but I'd rather organise something with people I know.
