Overall a pretty good day for the team.
The morning started out well as Fudge Kofman took the junior women's title. Fudge rode strong all day near the front and took the victory. In the Masters women Lori Kofman was 3rd and Rhonda Hall Couch rode very well to finish in the group.
Junior male Vince De Jong took a decisive win in the junior men's race. Vince bridged up solo to an OBC rider with 20km to go. They worked fairly well together and had a decent gap. On the last lap the gap was down to less than 10 seconds as all the race favourites chased. Vince dropped his breakaway companion on the last climb and used is track pursuit skills to solo in for the win.
Peter Kofman rode well in Masters C. Charlie and Dave Viney had a convincing 2 man break and Peter was in the chase group. Charlie took the win over Viney as Peter led the bunch out for the sprint but was overtaken near the end and ended up 9th.
The mid day race Paul Choquette rode very well to stay in the lead group, a very good ride for Paul. Joe Torchia from Westhaven had a top 20 finish.
Masters A race saw most of the CC riders at the front at some point with Sean Forbes being in a decent break. In the end it came down to a sprint with Tony getting a top 20. Westhaven rider and former CC rider Mike Forsdike was well positioned for an 11 place finish.
Senior 1/2 was a long race with an early break sticking. The guys were looking good as all but 2 of the break riders started to get caught. In the end the second group did stay away with Jason, Paul and Craig all doing well in the sprint. Honourable mention to Senior 3 Steve Smith who hung in with the big boys.
There is my report. I hope I didn't miss anyone.
