Well Chris might have an advantage now. KitKat just came out with a new Chunky with Cinnamin in it , we all know the powers of that spice. Aphrodesiac and Dieretic and fat burner. We should conceed now but Ill still give it a go.

Sibo 203.2

Official weigh in this morning 201 lbs.
My goal is to lose 6-8 lbs in 6 weeks. Here is my plan:
Calorie counting/tracking. I calculated to lose 1.3 lbs per week I need to consume 2300 calories on a day completely off adjusting for more calories on ride days.
Eat high quality low GI carbs
Eat more veggies especially dark greens
Limit treats and cheats
Keep riding volume fairly high (aim for 12 hrs per week)
Reduce red wine consumption to 2 small glasses a week.
Add in some extra general activity i.e. more walking.
Alright Sibo and JaJa lets hear your weigh ins and plans.
Chris

Sibo I hope you are kidding?!??! Remember the no crazy unsustainable diets rule!! No no carb, no south beach, no atkins, no carrot and juice diets
We could all drop more than 20lbs if we starved ourselves, the key is to keep the weight off and have it be healthy.
PS I did the TT in 56 and change.
56 is great, with aero bars and Zipps. Ill do 56 in 6 weeks on my bike with the training wheelset and normal bars again.
I had a lovely chicken ceaser salad for dinner and some v8 splash. Lots of carbs and protien.....
Now time for the light weight to sign in. As you know I live in a very small town, so getting a witness was a challenge, I managed however to locate a drunken native so he will have to do.
You know how hard it is walking around a town with a scale and just a towel on?
So the number is a fat 142. I will do my test ride on Sunday.
As far as a plan, I don't have the science background as the rest of you do. I will be going with the eat less and ride more theory. Hopefully my edge will be that thing called running.
Good luck boys.
JaJa
Goal will be to get to 130 and also ride faster on time trial number 2.

Was 187# this AM - pre morning ritual. So I'm already on my way having lost 1/2 since last I weighed.
The plan:
Lotsa use on the BBQ, especially boneless, skinless chicken
No desserts, chips or pop (were an occasional treat, but now not at all)
Nothing with a cream based sauce
Limit consumption of alcohol and hors d'oeuvres etc at business functions
Lotsa sex, don't know if it'll help but can't hurt either.
Ride as prescribed by Sensei, using gels and/or e-load only on rides longer than 20 minutes.

Got bumped out on last attempt trying to prove SPAM is bad - conspiracy???
Hormel is trying to disguise the fact that SPAM is evil....
79% fat
17% protein
4% carbs
Maybe the only good thing is that it's half water so it might facilitate hydration.
You can however get 32% of your RDA of sodium with just 2 oz of this stuff.
Hold on a minute on the Spam Bashing. If you go to www.spam.com You can see what an Icon Spam is. There is a Spam Mobile and everything. Cubed spam with Angle hair pasta was one of my favourites when I was lets say....less fortunate...... but there are a thousand recipies that will please everyone. It is so versitile that it is often requested at the Food Bank. There is alot of fat in it but in retrospect your body says " I get enough SpamFat so I dont need to store any " Thats why Spam eaters are all so slim.....

Well, got on the scale today and was pleased to see 185#, that puts me almost half way to my official goal and just under a third of the way to my unofficial.
There have been some repercussions to my healthy eating plan since the dog is not always there to blame my nasty gas discharges on.
On the other hand, if I could train my colon to braid I think I could $h!t rope. Could be something of a moonlighting job, kinda like Sibo at AllSeasons.
Nice Job Wanna Be. How to stay off the Spam... Im finding it hard to kick that habbit...
Im down to 195... I think that is 7+ from last week. Im sure that was the easy lbs and now the real work starts. 6 more lbs should do it. or 1.3 lbs per week until the final weigh in. That should give me a shot at the Crown. I think it is a bit unfair since some of my body parts are missing. My hip flexors are gone? Just a real sore spot in their place. (Stupid Powercranks)
I will continue to perservere and win the title despite my pain and suffering.
I have not been to Tims in a week and switched to a Calcium Beverage instead of milk.

Weighed in at 199lbs, down 2 lbs from last week. Fairly happy with that, I definately want to have sustainable weight loss, so this is on track. Had a pretty good week of eating with only 2 glasses of wine and minimal treats. Tracking calories has been ok, takes a bit of time but it is interesting. Hitting 2300 calories on days off and higher depending on riding days. The 2300 on days off is manageable but not easy, but on riding days I could be a little more aggressive as I don't always seem to need all the extra calories.
Be careful of losing water and glycogen weight. You can lose a lot by restricting carbs, but remember that is not in the spirit of the "healthy and sustainable" moto of the contest.
Nice work Chris... yes that 2 lbs a week will be a nice easy pace. Any word on "Jenna "
Well good afternoon boys. So who is Jenna? Is it me or am I just paranoid. Well at the weigh in today I am down 3 pounds to 139. Now I can't match SIBO on total pounds, but is losing 7 punds in a week healthy?
JaJa
Well Jaja I think 4 of those pounds was Colin related. Increased dietary fiber, 10 - 15 fruit and veg servings a day. No red meat, no white bread just smaller portions. From the Thrashing I put on the learn to race riders,no evident power loss yet. now it is ease up time and enjoy the spoils.

We certainly know that you can't lose more than 2-3 lbs of fat in a week with healthy weight loss. To lose 1lb of fat takes a caloric deficit of 3500 calories in a week. You can lose quite a bit of weight in water and glycogen by eating minimal amounts of carbohydrates. Unfortunately this weight loss is not sustainalbe as when you go back to eating a normal healthy amount of carbs you will regain the weight. Drastic changes in weight also tend to reduce metabolism, which in the long run can mean ending up heavier than when you started. In the spririt of the rules of contest we should all be making sure we are eating a healthy well balanced diet that includes enough carbohydrates to fuel our workouts and ensure manageable and sustainable weight loss.

Given tomorrow is the observed day for the July 1 stat this is my effective Friday. As a result I got on the scale this AM and was pleasantly surprised to see 182 (target weight!!!). I've gone in a notch on the belt and at this point see reason not to continue.
I may even get a referal from THE superstar for a suck and blow session to turn me into a bantam weight climbing machine :rolleyes: Nah - just kinding, annual checks of my prostate (Simon you s/b old enough to know what I'm talking about - the rest of you will have to wait til you hit 40 for the pleasure) have only served to confirm 3 things;
1) That hole s/b one-way only
2) Emphatically confirms my sexual orientation
3) Makes me extra scared of prison
So you leaving the 50.00 on the table for the rest of us to diet for. You could go on the maintenance plan and just weigh in on the final day??? Im down 8 this morn and want a couple more for good measure.

Huh? I'm of course still in and plan on winning. I'm gonna shoot for some cushion too and then maintain until I'm the last man standing. Last time I did one of these it was for $500 in prize money and it took almost a year before the rest of the weak willed dropped out. Bought some bike stuff with the winnings....
I think it is a % or something like that. So What % are you shooting for. I think my goal is 6%. What is your % now? I think Im at 4 % so far.........
